Shipping Policy
At For The Seed, we strive to provide our customers with the best possible service. Please review our shipping policy below. By placing your order, you agree to these shipping and payment terms.
- Shipping Locations: We currently ship to all provinces and territories within Canada. Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping at this time.
- Processing Time: Orders are processed within 2-3 business days or sooner. You will receive a notification once your order has been shipped.
- Shipping Methods: We offer standard shipping through Canada Post and Purolator. Delivery times may vary depending on your location, but typically range from 3-7 business days.
- Shipping Costs: Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the weight and destination of your order.
- Damaged or Lost Packages: If your package is damaged or lost during shipping, please contact us immediately at fortheseed@protonmail.com. We will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Shipping Processing:
1. Standard Lettermail (Untracked)
- Eligible Items: Small, flat, regular seed packets only.
- Cost: Flat rate of $4.00.
- Details: This option is sent via standard Canada Post lettermail to keep costs low for our home gardeners. It does not include tracking. If your order contains bulk seed bags or seed potatoes, this option will automatically disappear at checkout due to thickness and weight limits.
2. Tracked Bulk Seed & Potato Parcels
- Eligible Items: Bulk seed bags (Bulk Packs, 1/4 lb and 1/2 lb packages), seed potatoes, seed Collections, Seed Notebooks, Tshirts, and larger combined orders.
- Cost: Calculated live at checkout based on your exact weight and location.
- Details: These items are too thick or heavy to fit through Canada Post’s lettermail slots. They are packed in heavy-duty boxes and shipped securely via Canada Post or Purolator. You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as your order is packed and dispatched.
3. Crucial Address Accuracy Policy (Please Read)
As a small family-run business, we cannot absorb the cost of shipping errors caused by incorrect address entries.
- The Customer's Responsibility: You are entirely responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address at checkout.
- The Rural & PO Box Rule: If you live in a town or rural area where Canada Post does not deliver to your physical address and requires a PO Box, you must provide your PO Box number at checkout. Private couriers like Purolator cannot deliver to PO Boxes, and Canada Post cannot deliver to physical addresses in mail-box-only towns.
- If an Address Error Occurs: If a package is returned to us by the carrier due to an insufficient address, an incorrect postal code, or a missing PO Box number, the order will be held. To have your order reshipped to the correct address, you will be required to pay the shipping fee a second time. If you choose not to pay the reshipping fee, you will forfeit your order, and a refund will not be issued. If For the Seed miss ships an order, we will gladly re-ship the items to the correct address on our account.
4. Rural and Remote Deliveries
We proudly ship all across Canada! For our remote and rural farming communities, we intentionally route PO Box and rural route orders through Canada Post to ensure you are not subjected to expensive private courier "beyond-destination" surcharges.
Payment Terms
We accept the following payment methods:
- PayPal: You can choose to pay with your PayPal account. You will be redirected to the PayPal website to complete your payment.
- Interac e-Transfer: For customers who prefer to use Interac e-Transfer, please send your payment to fortheseed@prontonmail.com. Your order will be processed once the payment has been received.
- Sales Tax: All prices listed on our website are in Canadian dollars and do not include applicable sales tax. Sales tax will be calculated at checkout based on your shipping address, if applicable.
- Order Confirmation: Once your payment has been processed, you will receive an order confirmation email with the details of your purchase.
